REGISTRATION FOR TRYOUTS:
For the 2014 season, tryouts will be $10 per player. This registration cost will pay for the gym space and coaching fees involved in the 4 days of tryouts. We have teamed up with Team Sports Admin, a local company, to complete the registration and we have 100% confidence in their tool.

During this registration process, you will be asked to provide player and parent/guardian information. You will also be asked to sign a Liablity form and Concussion form utilizing the online signature service, DocuSign.
Please help our organization by walking through this registration process to provide your contact details. The entire process should take less than 10 minutes and will allow us to automate the tryout/registration process.
TRYOUT DATES: WHY DOES NORTH CITY HOLD TRYOUTS SO LATE?
We always schedule our tryouts for AFTER the WIAA season has concluded to ensure that all players give their HS team their full attention for the entire season. In addition, the 7th and 8th grade WESCO and ETL Feeder season ends at a similar time.

SEASON START/END:
We ask each player to commit to 3 months (March 10-June 1st) of the spring season. For all teams outside of 13U, we will take the month of June OFF to allow each player to compete with their High School teams during this summer period.
We will be offering team competition and training services for the 13U teams for the months of June and July. We will be offering team and training services for 14U-17U for the month of July. We will provide more details on these months and the tournaments by May 1st.
PROGRAM COST:
Our goal is to provide comprehensive costs that eliminate any added charges throughout the season. Because of increased costs in gym space, coaching fees and apparel we’ve been forced to raise our costs for the 2014 season. With these increases, we are still $300-$1000 less than other AAU programs in our area.
Total cost for the spring season (March– June 1st) is $930. $430 is due March 17th to secure a spot. $250 is due April 5th and $250 is due May 5th.
Breakdown of Costs:
• New Uniforms and Apparel – $150
• Registration, Tournaments, Gym Fees – $300
• Monthly Training and Coaching Fees – $160 per month x3 months = $480
Note: We need to order new uniforms for all players because the company we used previously, Signature Sportswear, went out of business in late 2013 and it wasn’t possible to order the same uniforms. We are not making any money on this uniform order and we apologize for this issue.
Because of our online registration process, we are requiring that a credit card is placed on file. Unless advanced notice and agreements are in place, the card will be charged for the 2nd and 3rd installments after the 5th of each month.
SCHOLARSHIPS:
We are committed to helping build the community and we understand that some families cannot afford the total cost of the program. We will have some full and partial scholarships available to provide but will require anyone interested in a scholarship to fill out a scholarship request form, including verification of family income and/or receiving any form of state assistance.
TRAINING AND PRACTICES
Sgt. Mike Lawson Training:
We believe the main difference between our programs and the rest is our focus on core strength training. Sgt. Mike Lawson, former Army Commando and 2x Winner of “Best in Western Washington” for Adult Bootcamps will lead our core training for the 4th straight year. Sgt. Lawson has trained athletes ranging from middle school, high school, college and the NBA, including currently serving as the lead trainer for Seattle Pacific University’s Men’s and Women’s basketball teams.
You can view some of our training videos at: http://www.youtube.com/user/northcityaau?feature=watch
Practices:
Each team will have 2 practices each week, lasting 2 hours that will encompass a blend of individual training (40%), team offense/defense (40%) and core strength training (20%). All practices between March 10th and the end of the school year will be held at Jackson HS.
Note: We may have to add a gym location to help fill the gap if Jackson is not available for a particular team or day.
